AER LINGUS CELEBRATED International Women’s Day in wonderful fashion.
Earlier this afternoon, a flight from Dublin to London Heathrow was staffed entirely by women – Captain Louise Gilroy and First Officer Amy Cunningham were in the cockpit, while an all-female cabin crew attended to the passengers.
Behind the scenes, all the important jobs were done by an entirely female team, from the turnaround coordinators to the airport managers to the flight operations officers.
The pictures are just a bit fantastic:
“I feel inspired by the talented and confident young women who are now joining the industry,” said Captain Gilroy of the special flight.
We need more women in visible leadership positions who will challenge the norms and find new ways of working if our industry is to keep apace with change. I hope that young girls and women will see opportunities for them in a career in aviation or aerospace.
We’re not crying. YOU’RE CRYING.
